BRIAN D. FLAGLER

MANAGING PARTNER

Before founding the firm, Brian served as Vice President of Administration & General Counsel of Multnomah Publishers, where he led the human resources, information technology and operations departments, was responsible for all corporate legal matters for the company, and served as a member of Multnomah’s executive leadership team.  Previously, Brian practiced intellectual property and corporate law in the Portland, Oregon office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP and in the Atlanta, Georgia office of Troutman Sanders LLP.  Brian also served as an adjunct instructor of intellectual property law at Clayton College & State University. He holds a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law. Brian and his wife Amy have three sons and enjoy hiking the mountain trails and paddling the many rivers and lakes surrounding Asheville.

Brian launched the firm in response to a sermon on John 15, feeling called to “bear fruit” through more than one Christian publishing organization. He would enjoy the opportunity to share the full story with you personally over a cup of coffee at the next conference or publishing industry event.

CRAIG A. GIPSON

OF COUNSEL

Craig Gipson represents publishers and distributors of Christian media in the Bend, Oregon office of Flagler Law Group. Before joining the Flagler Law Group team in 2011, Craig practiced education and real estate law with Brackett & Ellis in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from The University of Texas in 2005 and The University of Texas School of Law in 2008. He and his wife Jessie have two sons and enjoy reading, sports, and outdoor activities.

SANDON M. FISHER

Sandon joined Flagler Law Group in 2021 after a sermon series through Romans motivated him to serve organizations that have eternal impact. Sandon’s practice focuses on representing Christian publishers, ministries, churches and other organizations in mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property matters. Sandon’s experience ranges from working with small organizations to representing multinational corporations. He enjoys solving positive problems and working with clients on the legal aspects of their operations so they can focus on their missions. Prior to joining FLG, Sandon served as Legislative Counsel to the Alaska Legislature and as an associate at a boutique tax, transactional, and estate planning firm in Anchorage, Alaska. Sandon earned his JD from Liberty University School of Law. Sandon is a follower of Jesus, an aspiring amateur investor, formerly avid skier, enjoyer of sports, student of eschatology, and loves spending time with his family and their giant dog.

Maria Douglas

MARIA A. DOUGLASS

PARALEGAL & OFFICE MANAGER

Prior to joining Flagler Law Group in 2019, Maria A. Douglass was a licensing and technology transfer professional working in a variety of challenging international contexts. Among them, she led efforts to counter the threat of bioterrorism through the transformation of former Soviet biological weapons research and development capacities under the Defense and Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act (Public Law 107-117) for the U.S. Department of State. In her spare time, Maria enjoys trout fishing and beekeeping, and she is pursuing graduate studies toward earning her Ph.D. in Science and Technology Studies.
